WHO WE ARE

About Our League

SYB is a non-profit PONY (Protect Our Nation's Youth) organization, run by volunteers in Simi Valley since 1962. For more than 50 years SYB has been providing a great place for the youth of our community to play baseball, make new friends, build self-confidence and self-esteem.


PONY has developed a tradition of service to young people...teaching them to play by the rules, so that they will learn to live by the rules.

BASEBALL COMPLEX

We invite you to visit our beautiful baseball complex at 789 Irvine Road Simi Valley, CA 93065 (just off Madera Rd), near the Sinaloa Golf course. Many families have contributed over the years to make SYB one of the premier places to play youth baseball in the nation. Players and parents alike will love the Professional Grade Turf Infields, Age Appropriate HR Fences, Bullpens, Upgraded Snack Bar, BBQ with large Covered Dining Area, Upgraded Batting Cages w/Soft Toss Areas, Wiffle Ball Stadium, Handball Court, Covered Bleachers, Score Booths, Electronic Score Boards, and more.

SIMI YOUTH BASEBALL

age DIVISIONS

SYB currently have 5 age divisions. Pony 13-14, Bronco 11-12, Mustang 9-10, Pinto 7-8 and Shetland 6 and under. Each year SYB offers a Spring Season for individual players that runs March through mid-May with signups in November-December and tryouts in early January. This is followed by an All-Star season (for selected players) which runs from mid-May through June/July (depending on how far teams advance). We also run a Fall Ball Season (individuals & teams welcomed) that plays from just after Labor Day in September through the weekend before Thanksgiving in November. Simi Youth is the host of many tournaments throughout the year for travel/club teams.

  • Shetland

    Shetland is for players 4, 5, and 6 as of April 30th for the upcoming Spring season. We break our Shetland division into 3 levels for younger and older players and ability to best prepare each player for the following season. In Spring, we have a 4U T-ball division for players 4 and under. We also have an upper division where players tryout and are drafted into our National Shetland Division. All players between those two groups are placed on teams in our American Division.

  • Pinto

    Pinto is for players 7 and 8 as of April 30th for the upcoming Spring season.

  • Mustang

    Mustang is for players 9 and 10 as of April 30th for the upcoming Spring season.

  • Bronco

    Bronco is for players 11 and 12 as of April 30th for the upcoming Spring season.

  • Pony

    Pony is for players 13 and 14 as of April 30th for the upcoming Spring season.

CHAMPIONSHIP LEGACY

SYB’S COMPETITIVE LEGACY

SYB has established itself as one of the most competitive all-star powerhouses in the country. Since 2004, multiple SYB all-star teams have advanced all the way to the PONY World Series level, winning 17 World Series Championships in that time -- the latest being our 2025 Mustang 9u World Series Champions. Many competitive travel/club teams get together after our spring season to continue playing games/tournaments together throughout the year, which helps strengthen the level of play at SYB.

A Tradition of Champions

For more than 60 years, Simi Youth Baseball has brought local families together through a shared love of the game. Our mission is to give kids a place to belong, build confidence, develop friendships, and experience the excitement of being part of a team.


Our spring and fall seasons are the heart of SYB. From first-time players learning to throw and catch to experienced athletes sharpening their skills, we emphasize development, teamwork, sportsmanship, and fun. With the dedication of our volunteer coaches, families, and community supporters, our fields become a gathering place where friendships grow and memories last long after the final out.


That community foundation supports a proud tradition of All-Star excellence. SYB teams have earned 20 PONY World Series championships through 2025, across multiple age divisions. From our earliest championship teams to our 2024 Pinto-8 and Shetland-6 champions and 2025 Mustang-9 champions, generations of players have represented Simi Valley with talent, determination, and pride.


We are also proud of the SYB alumni who have taken their talents into professional sports. Christian Yelich, Blake Rutherford, Jacob Wilson, Pierson Ohl, Roc Riggio, Bryce Rainer, and John Peck have carried their love of baseball into the major and minor leagues. Our alumni also include NFL tight end Colby Parkinson, extending SYB’s legacy beyond the baseball diamond. Their journeys inspire the next generation of players to dream big and work hard.
